Las Vegas–It’s been a very busy week for the Vegas Golden Knights AHL affiliate as they added some reinforcements to their roster ahead of the 2018 Calder Cup Playoffs.

Earlier in the week, Cody Glass was recently called up by the Chicago Wolves organization after his Portland Winterhawks were knocked out of the WHL Playoffs in the 2nd round by the Everett Silvertips.

Glass was the first ever draft pick selection made by Golden Knights General Manager George McPhee in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft at 6th overall.

In his third full season with the Winterhawks, Glass had himself a career year with 37 goals, 65 assists for 102 points. This was the first time in his WHL career where he reached the 100+ point mark.

For 2018 WHL Playoffs, Glass played in 12 games where he produced 4 goals, 9 assists for 13 points which was also a career highs. He tied last year’s mark in goals at 4, while his 9 assists beat out the previous season mark where he had 5.

He was also a 1.08 points per game player which was the first time in the playoffs for him.

Glass prior to the 2017-18 Golden Knights inaugural season signed a 3-year contract with the organization.

With Nick Suzuki, his Owen Sound Attack were knocked out of the OHL Playoffs by the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in a seven game series battle in round 2.

His junior club made the announcement on their Twitter account this morning.

Suzuki was McPhee’s second selection in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft at 13th overall which was just two picks higher than defenseman Erik Brannstrom.

This year, Suzuki completed his third campaign with Owen Sound Attack where like Glass had with Portland put up career numbers in assists at 58 and produced his first ever 100 point season. His 42 goals was his second best of his career, last season he netted 45.

For Suzuki in this year’s OHL Playoffs was a bit of a down run for him as he only played in 11 games where he scored 3 goals, tallied 9 assists for 12 points. His numbers in the postseason where last year when he played a total of 17 games and recorded 8 goals, 14 assists for 22 points.

He barely cleared the point per game threshold at 1.09 in this year’s playoffs which was lower then his 2017 numbers at 1.29.

Suzuki also signed a 3-year entry level contract before the Golden Knights first season in the NHL.

The Wolves open up their first round series against the Rockford IceHogs who the affiliate to the Chicago Blackhawks this Saturday April 21.
